Pampers her guests with culinary delights at the Hotel Hubertus
Filzmoos has a good reputation the world over when it comes to eating out. Johanna Maier – has been awarded four chef’s hats by Gault Millau and is the only woman at the top of the gastronomic world – started her cooking career in Filzmoos.
After learning her craft in the international kitchens of the world’s top chefs she returned to the Hotel Hubertus in Filzmoos. She is a credit to the village and a role model for local chefs. Today she runs the Hotel Hubertus in Filzmoos with her husband Dietmar.

Filzmoos Berry "Schmarren"
by Johanna Maier Ingredients:
250 g quark
90 g sugar
25 g cornflour
2 whole eggs
1 shot of rum
1 tablespoon lemon juice
6 egg whites
1-2 tablespoons butter
250 g mixed fruits of the forest
Method:
Mix the quark, 30 g of sugar, cornflour and the two eggs, add rum and lemon juice to taste. Beat the egg whites with 60 g of sugar until stiff and carefully fold them into the quark mixture. Heat the butter in a pan pour in the batter and fry gently. Sprinkle the berries on the top and bake in the oven at 170°C for about 15 minutes.
