Photography & hiking week in Filzmoos

Photography is painting with light and shadow. In late summer Filzmoos presents itself in its most beautiful photographic light. It's a pleasure for your eyes - a true rush of colour pouring over the alpine pastures. Clear air, a special light, nature shows its full force and makes this perfect time for hiking an unforgettable experience. Nature shimmers like velvet. The earth emits a mature, rich aroma. The light-coloured limestone rocks of the Bischofsmütze stand in majestic contrast to the lush green alpine meadows. Now's the perfect time for hiking enthusiasts and photographers. Take a walk and along the way photograph fascinating Austrian mountain scenery together with Herbert Raffalt.





Course programme:

Thursday:

Arrival, meet at 6.00 pm in the seminar room at the Hotel Hammerhof. Get to know each other over a glass of wine. After the evening meal Herbert Raffalt presents pictures on the subject of image composition and exposure.

Friday to Saturday:

The group starts out after breakfast at around 9.00 am on a joint photo hike. Walking times are between 4 and 6 hours. Along the way there are plenty of stops to rest and take photos. These are not difficult mountain tours. The main purpose is to take photos together and learn about image composition and design. You return to your accommodation at around 4.00 pm. Now it’s time to relax and unwind. After the evening meal there’s an hour of theory. The photos are evaluated and assessed together as a group.

Equipment:

Walking equipment:

Rucksack, sturdy walking boots, rainwear, sun protection, sun glasses, drinking bottle, replacement clothing to change into at the peak. Hats and gloves are useful, if it’s still cold in the early morning.

Photography equipment:

Digital single lens reflex camera, several memory cards and rechargeable batteries. Where possible a tripod for long exposures such as sunrise. You’re welcome to bring your own laptop for photo editing.
