Hiking in and around Filzmoos

Dachstein and Bischofsmütze (nearly) always in view



The paths are well-signposted and categorised: "blue" paths are easy walks, “red“ are medium-difficulty walks and “black” walks should only be undertaken with a mountain guide.


Walking map & and book of walks contain all the paths and route descriptions. Both available from the Tourist Office in Filzmoos.

There are also walking information boards around the village.

You can obtain hike recommendations, current information about walks, the walking badges, etc. from the Tourist Office in Filzmoos or from the Outdoor Center “Filzmoos Aktiv“ (roundabout).

The walking guides accompanying guests on the hikes impart lots of useful information and make sure you have great fun.



The Filzmoos Wanderbus


The Filzmoos Wanderbus is very popular. Using this service you can undertake fabulous circular hikes. The bus is in operation from May until October 2012, in the high season (July, August and September) daily, and in the low season (May, June and October) daily from Sunday to Friday. Subject to change.


Tickets available on the bus.


Guests staying at hotels bearing this symbol have the Wanderbus included in their Salzburger Sportwelt Card and travel free of charge on the Wanderbus. Ask at your hotel.

Grossberg chairlift


The Grossberg chairlift is in operation on Tuesday and Thursday from 19th June to 13th September 2012 from 09.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 13.30 to 15.30 pm in fine weather.

TIP: Travel up on the chairlift to the Kleinbergalm and walk via the “Schwarze Lacke“ to the Schwaigalm and down to Neuberg. Return journey to Filzmoos on the Wanderbus or local bus.
