Long-distance trails

Themed walks

Moosalm children’s walk
A fun stamp booklet accompanies little walkers on the trail up to the Moosalm. Along the way there are 15 little houses, in which stamps with animals motives can be found. The stamps must be stamped on the correct page of the booklet.
After approx. 1 hour’s walk you come to the child-friendly Moosalm, where the children receive a badge for their effort. Stamp booklets can be obtained from the Tourist Office free of charge.

Zeferer´s Path of Senses
is a barefoot walk activating the reflex zone areas on the soles of your feet and revitalizing body and soul. Embark on a journey a discovery from the Hotel Gasthof Zeferer without shoes through the forest and feel close to nature. Hard to believe how different the ground can feel.

Bachlalm Nature Trail
The shy marmot (known as Manggei in local dialect) is at home by the Bachlalm. He curiously watches the visitors without making a sound. The Bachlalm Nature Trail is also worth a visit. You’ll find lots of interesting information regarding wildlife, alpine animals, forest and meadows, mountains and mountaineering.

Heaven’s Ladder
Climbing up on “Heaven’s Ladder“ is Filzmoos is worth it. You’re still in the centre of the mountain village. Yet just after a few steep metres upwards you get a completely different view. The effort of climbing up will clear your head. Your breathing and beating heart compete for your attention. The walker on “heaven’s ladder” becomes aware of all his senses. How sensitive are the soles of your feet when you walk barefoot over small pieces of wood, stones or even moss? Listen to the rustling of the forest, the cracking of a tree trunk. Do firs, pines, spruces and thick beeches have a story to tell? The herb garden emits a powerful scent. Only our great-grandmothers recognise many of these healthy plants. More than 110 springs originate in and around Filzmoos, and the water from each one tastes different. The path up the “heaven’s ladder” heightens your senses. It’s worth giving it a try.

UNICEF – Herzerlweg (Path of Hearts)
Enjoy a “hearty“ walk along the family-friendly “Path of Hearts“. This path and many others in Filzmoos are suitable for pushchairs.

Family on a themed walk
