On the Dachstein Glacier you are that little bit closer to heaven Another highlight on the Dachstein: Peep into a natural crevasse of about 40 m in length and 17 m in height, filled with 600,000 litres of water, which was discovered in the course of development works of the Ice Palace. Through a porthole glass visitors can take a look into a fascinating world of ice of up to 80 cm of natural crystals. The Dachstein Ice Palace is a unique opportunity to safely explore the interior of a glacier. |
With the best views...
An additional attraction is the "Dachstein Sky Walk" situated right by the mountain station of the Dachstein cable car: Probably the most spectacular viewing platform in the whole of the Alps reigns above the 250 m steep vertical rock face of the Hunerkogel. Parts of the floor are made of glass - guaranteeing unforgettable views.
