Impressionism
He says: ‘As an Austrian, I have been haunted all my life by my memories of the dreamlike quality of the light in the hazy European atmosphere. Through my art, I strive to express this longing as best I can, and I hope that everyone who looks at my paintings feels the same.’
Günther has won several prizes in numerous local and national competitions for his artworks, and his paintings are held in many private art collections in the USA and Europe. He is a member of the OPA (Oil Painters of America) and the AIS (American Impressionist Society), Vice-President of the ISA (Intermountain Society of Artists), former President and currently a board member of the UWS (Utah Watercolour Society), as well as a board member of the MAA (Midway Art Association). He lives with his wife in Alpine, Utah.
