Jutta BLÜHBERGER

Jutta Blühberger is a visual artist from Vienna. After many years abroad, she now lives and works on Lake Wolfgang and draws inspiration from nature.

She is best known for her artistic focus on painting with pigments and a cold wax medium. In recent years, she has expanded this by incorporating textures (mostly using marble dust), handmade paper, sand and textiles. Her intuitive process-based painting emerges from a dialogue between the artist’s subconscious and the materials, which develop their own dynamic as they dry.

Her works on handmade paper, in particular, explore her engagement with the human striving for perfection, the perfectionism of her family of origin, and the beauty that is revealed not in perfection, but in imperfection.
