MARTINA LANG

Born in Geislingen/Steige, Swabia, in 1968, I have viewed the world through different eyes since my earliest childhood. As I immersed myself in other worlds – what might be called ‘being playful’ – I found it a challenge to remain in the present moment. I was very engaged in art lessons and courses in photography and craft.

Nature provides me with a wellspring of ideas and inspiration. Images take shape in my mind, which are then transformed into pictures and objects through my hands. Working with natural materials gives me a sense of grounding. It creates a connection to creation – indeed, a creative process that brings us back to ourselves. My artworks feature symbols and dream-like elements imbued with a calm, sustaining power, as well as playful elements with a childlike quality.

Opening oneself up to it, exploring it and experimenting can reveal deep feelings and emotions. It is a return to creativity, which I delight in passing on in my current vocation as a life coach and artist through my courses.
Understanding the language of nature, delving ever deeper into it, and ultimately feeling how one is at one with everything – that is what I wish to convey through my work.
