SIGRID NEPELIUS
Painting
Fantastic Realism
My paintings are created through a multi-layered process involving many stages of work. Through my art, I create a world in which animals, plants and the imagination merge. It is an invitation to rediscover the beauty and wonders of nature.
My works are never about what you see at first glance. I am inspired by what you cannot see: the invisible, the interconnectedness of all things. The fact that there is something you cannot grasp, but can sense. That is why boundaries are blurred in my paintings, giving rise to a world that is, on the one hand, familiar, yet at the same time a little magical.
